A Nepali alternative to AnyDesk and TeamViewer
AnyDesk and TeamViewer are good tools, used all over the world. For a support business in Nepal they have three problems: they are priced in US dollars, they need an international card, and their free versions are for personal use only. Beej Connect is built for exactly that business.
At a glance
| Beej Connect | AnyDesk, TeamViewer | |
|---|---|---|
| Price for a support technician | Rs 999 a month, or Rs 9,990 a year | Several thousand rupees a month, in US dollars |
| How you pay | Bank transfer or payment QR, in rupees, with an invoice | International card, usually a year in advance |
| Using the free version for business | Free Personal plan for family and friends; a 14-day free Business trial for companies | Free versions are for personal use only, and commercial use gets blocked |
| Help when you need it | By phone in Nepali, from Pokhara | Email or web forms, overseas |
| Customers pay or sign up | Never | Never |
| Computers you can support | Windows 10 and 11 | Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone |
| Unattended access at the Windows sign-in screen | Coming soon (works today while someone is signed in) | Yes |
What Beej Connect does
- Support by ID. The customer reads out a 9-digit ID and a one-time password. They see your name and company and accept, and you see and control their screen.
- Unattended access. A customer can give your company standing access to a computer, such as a shop's billing PC or an office's accounts machine, so any of your supporters can fix it without a phone call.
- A company portal. Add supporters, make admins, reset passwords and see every session your team has run.
- Everything a session needs. Windows shortcuts like Alt+Tab and Task Manager, copying text both ways, chat and file sending, more than one screen, and automatic reconnect when the internet drops.
- Meetings and calls. Up to 4 people with camera, background blur, noise reduction and screen sharing with control.
- Works through strict firewalls, including offices that only allow web traffic.
When AnyDesk or TeamViewer is still the better choice
We'd rather you pick the right tool. Choose one of them if you need to support Mac, Linux or mobile devices, if you need to sign in to a PC that has just restarted (until our sign-in screen support arrives), or if you have a big international team. For a Nepali IT shop, software company or office IT team supporting Windows PCs, Beej Connect does the job for a fraction of the price, and you pay the way you pay everyone else.
Common questions
Is Beej Connect a copy of AnyDesk or TeamViewer?
No. It is our own software, written by Beej Technologies in Pokhara. It does the same kind of job: seeing and controlling another computer's screen with the owner's permission.
Can my customers keep using AnyDesk while we try Beej Connect?
Yes. The two don't interfere. Your customers can install Beej Connect alongside, and nothing changes until you start using it.
Is it safe to use a Nepali remote support tool?
Connections are encrypted end to end with WebRTC (DTLS and SRTP), the customer accepts every attended session and can stop it at any time, and every update is signed. Read how on the security page.
How do we move our team over?
Start a free trial, add your supporters in the company portal, and ask customers to install Beej Connect the next time they call. For computers you look after regularly, the customer allows your company unattended access once. We can help you set it up by phone.
