Beej Connect

Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

This policy explains what Beej Technologies ("we") stores when you use Beej Connect, the website at connect.beejtechnologies.com.np and the company portal, why we store it and who can see it.

What we never store

We don't record or keep what is on a screen, sound, camera video, chat messages, or text copied between computers. These go over an encrypted connection between the computers taking part. When they pass through our relay server, they stay encrypted and we can't read them.

What we store

Every computer with Beej Connect installed

  • Its Beej Connect ID, the computer's name, when it was first and last seen, and the internet (IP) address it last connected from.
  • Which companies the computer's user has given unattended access to.

Accounts

  • Supporters: username, display name, email address if given, company, whether they're a company admin, and when they last signed in.
  • Personal accounts: email address, display name, when the account was made and the IP address it was made from, and when it last signed in.
  • Companies: company name, number of seats, paid-until date, and whether it's on a trial. When a company signs up, we also keep the IP address the sign-up came from until the link is used or expires.
  • Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never as text. We count failed sign-ins to stop password guessing.

Sessions

  • Who connected to which computer, from which IP addresses, when it was requested, accepted and ended, whether it was unattended, and who ended it.
  • Meetings and calls aren't logged.

The website

  • Our web server keeps a standard access log: IP address, page, time and browser type. One-time sign-up links are removed from it.
  • The website doesn't use tracking cookies or advertising trackers. The portal uses a cookie only to keep you signed in.

Why we store it

  • To connect computers and accounts, and to let customers see who is asking to connect.
  • To show companies their own session history, so they can check their team's work.
  • To keep the service secure, to stop misuse and to investigate reports of scams.
  • To bill companies and keep accounting records.

Who can see it

  • Your company: company admins see their own supporters, the computers that gave the company unattended access, and their own company's sessions. Each supporter sees their own sessions.
  • Beej Technologies staff: to run the service, give support and deal with misuse.
  • Service providers who run parts of the service for us, under their own privacy terms: our server host (DigitalOcean, with servers outside Nepal), our email provider for sign-up and account emails, and payment providers once you pay online.
  • Authorities, only when Nepali law requires us to.

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

  • Unused sign-up links are removed a day after they expire.
  • A computer that registered but was never connected to or given unattended access is removed after a year without being seen.
  • Session history is kept while your company or account is active, so you can look back at it. Ask us to remove it when you leave.
  • Backups are kept for 30 days.
  • Billing records are kept for as long as Nepali tax law requires.

Your choices

  • You can uninstall Beej Connect at any time, and take back unattended access in the app.
  • You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account. Email info@beejtechnologies.com.np. We may keep records we need for billing, security or the law.
  • If you're a supporter, your company manages your account. Ask your company admin first.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell companies by email or in the portal.
